Altering a magazine Picture

So many time I hear, "I cant do that, I cant paint!" I want to assure you that YOU CAN!!!  In the above videos, there are 3 steps and stages, in transforming a magazine image from a woman smoking, to a resting ballerina. In using the values of light and dark, already utilized in the magazine picture, a lot of the work is done for us! Here I will paint over an image with Gesso, and then add and alter the image to fit my needs!

SHALOM

My word for 2015 is "Shalom", what a sweet, sweeeet word to become more acquainted with over the course of the year!!  Shalom means "Hello" and "Goodbye", it means wholeness and harmony...it means prosperity and completion.  Have you ever been in a season where the Lord closes some doors, but then flings open a new set of possibilities...yeah, me too.  So, "Hello!!!" and "Goodbye"..."and all of her paths are Peace" (Proverbs 3:17)  I did this little lovely on the front page of my calendar/planner/art journal...I take it with me everywhere, it houses our families calendar, provides lots of pages to draw while I am sitting in the car and provides space to pray in color for those things that are so troublesome.  So, SHALOM, my friends...Peace to you, do not fear (Judges 6:232)
