15 Drink
water from your own cistern,
And running water from your own well.
16 Should your fountains be dispersed abroad,
Streams of water in the streets?
17 Let them be only your own,
And not for strangers with you.
18 Let your fountain be blessed,
And rejoice with the wife of your youth.
19 As a loving deer and a graceful doe,
Let her breasts satisfy you at all times;
And always be enraptured with her love.
20 For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman,
And be embraced in the arms of a seductress?
And running water from your own well.
16 Should your fountains be dispersed abroad,
Streams of water in the streets?
17 Let them be only your own,
And not for strangers with you.
18 Let your fountain be blessed,
And rejoice with the wife of your youth.

A loving deer and a graceful doe. What a beautiful imagery of marriage. May I always be graceful with my husband, and
he always be loving towards me, on the bad days, the stressful days, as well as
the good days. Solomon has a way with
words and imagery, as he speaks of having his fountains and streams of water
not be found in the streets. Graphic,
powerful, intoxicating imagery, of fornication and lust. For married people, I
could not even attempt to add to Solomon’s wisdom.
I know that there are widows, and single woman taking part
in our study, so how does this relate to you? I would say that there are gods among us that cause us to walk away from our true love: Jesus. This is
not where Solomon was going here – but, how do we walk away from our first true
love? How do we loose focus on Him and being enraptured in His love?
Around your page, with the door and the roadblocks – tell me
about Jesus. Tell me about His love for
you and how that is bigger, better and more intoxicating that seduction’s lure.
