12 “I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
and I find knowledge and discretion.
13 The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and perverted speech I hate.
14 I have counsel and sound wisdom;
I have insight; I have strength.
15 By me kings reign,
and rulers decree what is just;
16 by me princes rule,
and nobles, all who govern justly
and I find knowledge and discretion.

We can add more things into our intersection, or crosswalk,
this week. On Wisdoms side- we learn
that she dwells with Prudence. Let us look at what Lady Prudence offers us:
Discretion. Mirriam
Webster would describe her this way:
Full Definition of discretion:
- 1 : the quality of having or showing discernment or good judgment : the quality of being discreet : circumspection; especially : cautious reserve in speech
- 2 : ability to make responsible decisions
- 3 a : individual choice or judgment <left the decision to his discretion> b : power of free decision or latitude of choice within certain legal bounds <reached the age of discretion>
- 4 : the result of separating or distinguishing
Oh
my goodness – Prudence adds another layer onto Lady Wisdom and the beauty and
refinement, that is found on her corner. The Fear of the Lord is hatred of evil
– to live with a respect and love for our God is to stake ourselves against
evil.
We
also learn different attributes we can put on the side of The Adulteress:
·
pride
·
arrogance
·
perverted
speech
How
does this filter into our daily life? If
we are allowing these things into our crossroads – we are allowing The
Adulteress into our intersection. What are we filling our senses with? There is so much perversion in today’s media
– do we guard our hearts and our minds from this curse? In our media, in books, in speech. Do we
guard our eyes?
Wisdom
offers us:
·
14 I have counsel ( Purpose and advice)
·
and sound wisdom; (abiding success (of the
effect of sound wisdom)
·
I
have insight; (discernment)
·
I
have strength. (might,
mighty deeds of God, valour and bravery)
·
15 By me kings reign,
and rulers decree what is just;
and rulers decree what is just;
·
16 by me princes rule,
and nobles, all who govern justly
and nobles, all who govern justly
Perhaps it is time for us to join together, as the Bride of
Christ, and pray that the future rulers of this country would fall under the
governance of Lady Wisdom and Lady Prudence.
What is your intersection looking like? Have you been adding
in the different attributes found on the opposite side of the street through
the course of this week?
