22 “The
Lord possessed me at the beginning
of his work,
the first of his acts of old.
23 Ages ago I was set up,
at the first, before the beginning of the earth.
24 When there were no depths I was brought forth,
when there were no springs abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains had been shaped,
before the hills, I was brought forth,
26 before he had made the earth with its fields,
or the first of the dust of the world.
27 When he established the heavens, I was there;
when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,
28 when he made firm the skies above,
when he established the fountains of the deep,
29 when he assigned to the sea its limit,
so that the waters might not transgress his command,
when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
30 then I was beside him, like a master workman,
and I was daily his delight,
rejoicing before him always,
31 rejoicing in his inhabited world
and delighting in the children of man.

We see here that our Lady Wisdom was created at the very
beginning of His creation. She was
created- so we know that Lady Wisdom is not the Holy Spirit, as the Holy Spirit
is part of our triune God- who was and is and ever shall be. She was created before
the beginnings of the Earth, as one of God’s first creations. The word here is, “chuwl” for her creation:
To twist, dance, whirl. Can you delight
with me as we see our Lady Wisdom’s creation, as she is formed?
Imagine this – her intent was to be a partner to Adam and
Eve, and all of mankind – as an attribute of God. Fear of the Lord existed before
there was an Earth to hold us. We were
born into a Garden where the fear of the Lord lived, and through her, we would
possess all of her promises!
We see her squealing with delight, next to God, as she
creates:
“….then I was beside him, like a master workman,
and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always.”
and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always.”
Can you imagine this extra glimpse into the beginning of our
created world? Does it make you smile as
I am smiling now? I can “see” her on the
wind, glorifying His name out of reverence, love and respect as He creates
mountains and tulips. A jettison of
twirling exaltation over the creation of the Weeping Willow. And the awe and wonder of the Master Creation
as He breathed His life into the first man.
I imagine she stopped and held her breathe – eyes wide as Adam came to
life. Did she dance with the angels as
he stood up and declared the majesty of God?
She was now:
31 rejoicing
in his inhabited world
and delighting in the children of man.”
and delighting in the children of man.”
The
other side of her word: Chuwl is : writhe,
fear, tremble, travail, be in anguish, be pained. How she must have
travailed as the bite was taken, as
mankind was plunged into separation. I wonder how her dance changed when
sin entered the world? Did the air around her get heavier, offer more resistance
to her whirling and twisting? Did the colors around her fade as darkness
presented itself? Did she wilt just a
little? Did she look to the eyes of the Father for direction? Did she grieve for what once was? Did her dance become focused and intent on
the children of man and leading them through the darkness? She was allowed to stay with us, a voice and
path, an attribute of God directing us to the ways of the Lord and higher ground.
Can
you capture this creation scene in your journal? Remember that collage is a fantastic way to
capture the Garden, and all that you “see” in your mind, and getting it out and
onto paper.
