I have chosen the Proverb that speaks to me out of todays reading. Please journal that which the Lord is revealing to you! LOOK AND LISTEN WELL (15:30–33): A cheerful look brings joy to the heart.
30 Light
in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart,
and good news gives health to the bones.
and good news gives health to the bones.
31 Whoever
heeds life-giving correction
will be at home among the wise.
will be at home among the wise.
32 Those
who disregard discipline despise themselves,
but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.
but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.
33 Wisdom’s
instruction is to fear the Lord,
and humility comes before honor.
We are half way through the book of Proverbs, and Solomon ends chapter 15 with
a strong reminder that this entire path
began with the FEAR OF THE LORD. Do you remember? Because Solomon pauses to
remind us, let’s remind ourselves what fear of the Lord means. It is to bow down to Him in reverence, respect
and awe. When we bow down to the Lord, we have to bend. We have to bend our
will to his. Bending means that we are burdened from the loads that we are carrying
and we need a respite from our worry.
Bending means that we can’t stand tall in pride and arrogance. Bending doesn’t mean breaking. Bending takes
on humility as it’s force, as we think less of ourselves and more of Him
----our posture weakens, our knees get trembly…as we stand before the God of
the Angel Armies. We bow so that He receives the glory. and humility comes before honor.
In this place, as we stand before Him, bent in obeisance, we are in the correct posture to hear from Lady Wisdom. This is the frequency that she comes through on, loud and clear. There is no static as she whispers in our ears and instructs us in the ways of the Lord.
Solomon tells us that, in this state of obeisance, will always come before honor. Gentleness, a sense of clemency as we come before the Lord…..we are not worthy to be in His presence, in His Holy Presence we remember how we fall short of the Glory of God. But God, in His grace and loving kindness sent us His Son. We are granted clemency through the blood of Jesus Christ to call Him Father. As we bow into these magnificent truths, we assume the correct posture to become His servant, to love the world and make disciples – in His name.
In this place of humility we are set to receive His gifts and glorious abundance.
Is there a place in your life that you have held onto? A place that you don’t want to give it over to the Lord? A place that you are not bending to His will and to His ways? It could be a medical issue, that you are not ready to give over into His will. It could be a relationship that you continue to struggle with, trying to fix it in your own power. It could be an addiction that you would rather not give up.
Would you seek His will today, bending your heart in prayer as you come before the Holy Throne and seek His heart on the matter? The truth is that God meets us were we are with grace and mercy.
